What is Ash Wednesday?
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent and the Easter Season. It is a reminder of human mortality and our deep need for reconciliation with God.
Why Observe Ash Wednesday?
Ash Wednesday marks a period of 40 days of intentionality in the Christian life – a time to slow down and focus on Christ’s life, death, and resurrection.
We receive ashes, placed on our foreheads, as a symbol of Jesus’ death and of our own sin, and we usher in the season of Lent solemnly.
From dust we came, and from dust we will return.
Join us at 7am at Acoma and 6:30pm at Hampden Hall – ashes will be given at both. No childcare will be provided for either service.
We can’t wait to usher this season in with you!
