Pandemic Prayer

On this one-year anniversary of the first COVID-19 case in Colorado, we pray……

Today to we remember the event that led to a year of change, loss, challenge, and pain. Too many lives lost. Too many jobs lost. Too many businesses closed forever. Too much loneliness. Too many hospital bills. Too much loss. Too much pain.

Lord, have mercy.

Christ, have mercy.

We lament the loss and pain we’ve experienced in the last year. Some changes are repairable, others are permanent. May we not live in denial of the impact of this pandemic and may we not fall into a perpetual spiral of sorrow. The world is not as it should be, yet you are making all things new.

Lord, have mercy.

Christ have mercy.

We pray for hope, growth, peace, and grace to be the predominate modes for our life in the coming year.

May it be unto us as you have said:

The joy of the Lord is our strength.

Amen.
