WHAT DO WE DO WITH THE NEGATIVE THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS THAT PERVADE OUR LIVES?
What is a healthy way to deal with the sadness, anger, jealousy, bitterness, and fear that so many of us experience? Do we stuff those feelings down, ignoring them because we think they’re evil or wrong? Or can we somehow give a voice to our negative emotions in a way that integrates with our faith? Through the prayers and songs of people who journeyed through faith thousands of years before us, we can see that God is pleased when we tell Him who we really are, including our most unsavory thoughts and feelings.
As we have done for the past four years, this July we join the Church in Denver in a collaborative teaching series: this year we will be looking at the imprecatory psalms, or Angry Psalms, to learn just how honest we can really be with God. Join us, as we’ll have the opportunity to hear from different pastors from around the Denver area each week as we tackle this important subject.
